We collect anonymised usage analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve the product. This includes:

• Products clicked or viewed
• External links followed (e.g. clicking through to a supermarket)

We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information unless you contact us directly. We do not use cookies or store any persistent identifier on your device for tracking purposes.

Analytics data is used solely to:

• Understand which features and searches are most useful
• Measure click-throughs to supermarket product pages
• Identify and fix technical issues

We do not sell, rent, or share analytics data with third parties, advertisers, or supermarket chains.

GroceryIndex may use third-party infrastructure services (such as cloud hosting and content delivery) to operate the site. These providers may process request data (such as IP addresses) in the course of delivering the service. We select providers that maintain appropriate data protection standards.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers or social media tracking pixels.

Anonymised analytics events are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted or aggregated into summary statistics. If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and applicable state privacy legislation, you have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you and to request its correction or deletion. Because we do not collect identifiable personal information through normal use of the site, we are generally unable to link analytics data back to a specific individual.
