About GroceryIndex
GroceryIndex is a free tool that helps Australians save money on their weekly shop by comparing prices across multiple supermarkets in one place.
How it works
Search for any product and instantly see matching items from Coles and ALDI side by side, ranked by relevance or price. Results show both the total price and the price per unit (per kg, per litre, etc.) so you can make fair comparisons regardless of pack size.
For example, comparing a 500g pack at $4.00 with a 1kg pack at $6.50 is much easier when you can see that the first costs $8.00/kg and the second $6.50/kg.
Where does the data come from?
Prices are sourced automatically from the public websites of the following supermarkets:
- Coles — coles.com.au
- ALDI — aldi.com.au
More supermarkets may be added in the future.
How often is data updated?
Prices are refreshed every day, so you can be confident you are seeing current pricing rather than stale snapshots. The date of the most recent update is reflected in the data returned for each store.
